St. Petersburg senior kicker Sean Covington has orally committed to UCLA, according to coach Joe Fabrizio. Covington made his decision just four days after an official visit to the school during the Green Devils' bye week. Covington watched UCLA play a home game against Utah.
This season, Covington has averaged 47.5 yards per punt and has a long of 70 yards. He has kicked seven field goals, two of which were over 50 yards, and leads the team with 27 points scored. Covington also has 17 touchbacks in 22 kickoffs.
Covington is expected to be a punter and kicker for the Bruins. He is also a goalkeeper for the soccer team but will concentrate on football in Los Angeles.
