Gibbs DE Tim Jackson has always liked Stanford, and Sunday night’s in-home visit with Cardinal assistant D.J. Durkin only solidified that program’s status as one of Jackson’s leaders.

“It went well,” Jackson said via e-mail. “We covered about every aspect of the next level possible. I had about five other people there to make sure everything got covered concerning football, academics, recruiting, college life, etc. It has definitely set a high bar and a measuring tool for these other visits coming up.”

For now, Jackson’s top eight includes Stanford, Iowa State, Kentucky, North Carolina, Ole Miss, USF, Vanderbilt and Wake Forest. The 6-foot-5, 220-pounder, who has a 3.7 GPA and is rated as a three-star prospect by Rivals.com, lists no favorite.

Jackson has visits to Stanford and UNC lined up for early December.

He leaves for Stanford on Thursday.

UNC will make an in-home Tuesday. Both Wake Forest and Vanderbilt will stop by Wednesday.

“I know it's going to get crazy these next couple of months,” Jackson said.
