Because of a new conduct policy at Armwood, the return of Hawks standout defensive lineman Alton Bailey will take a different path.
Bailey missed last week's game against Plant, a 17-7 Armwood loss. Armwood athletic director Don Hill said Wednesday that Bailey was suspended because he violated the school's new student-athlete code of conduct, a policy Hill said the school introduced this school year. All student athletes signed a form agreeing to the code of conduct before the year began.
Because of that, Hill said Bailey's return is pending an administrative review.
"His return will be decided by Armwood's administration," Hill said. "It's a procedural thing. This is new and it hasn't been done in the past, so nobody really knows about it."
Citing student confidentiality rules, Hill wouldn't say how Bailey violated the code nor when his administrative review would take place.
