Steinbrenner running back and return specialist Kendall Pearcey announced his commitment to Fordham on Sunday following his official visit there this weekend.
“After my visit and much talk with my family, I’ve decided to take my talents to Fordham University,” Pearcey said via his Twitter account.
Pearcey, who was ranked No. 64 in the HomeTeam 100, totaled more than 1,000 yards of offense, averaged 47 yards per kickoff return and scored 14 touchdowns in his senior season.
A 5-foot-10 and 193-pound athlete, Pearcey is also averaging 6.9 points and 2.3 steals per game on the Warriors’ varsity basketball team.
Pearcey visited Dartmouth last week with Steinbrenner teammate Jon Marc Carrier.
Fordham, a Jesuit university of 15,000 students located in the Bronx borough of New York City, competes in the Patriot League of the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision. The Rams had three players from Florida on their most recent roster.
