Steinbrenner catcher Jesse Haney, a three-year starter for the Warriors, signed over the weekend with State College of Florida, a two-year program formerly known as Manatee Community College.

Warriors coach John Crumbley announced the signing Monday. Haney hit .278 with a home run and 11 RBI last season, striking out only four times in 75 plate appearances. Defensively, he threw out four base runners.

As a sophomore, Haney hit .533 in 30 at-bats with two home runs and 12 RBI.
