Rachel Mathison, a four-year starter for Steinbrenner’s volleyball team, signed a letter of intent Tuesday to play sand volleyball at Stetson.

Mathison, a 5-foot-10 outside hitter, helped lead the Warriors to their first-ever regional title with a 3-0 win against Lake Nona on Nov. 9. The win gave Steinbrenner its first state final four appearance, in which they lost to Gulf Coast in five sets.

Mathison had 16 kills and 17 digs in the state semifinal loss to the Sharks.
