Steinbrenner guard Olivia Unger has signed a letter of intent to play basketball at Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk, N.C., coach JR Allen said.
Unger was third on the team in scoring last season, averaging 7.1 points per game, and she scored 26 of the Warriors' 66 3-pointers, shooting 29 percent from long range.
Unger receieved a partial athletic scholarship from Lees-McRae, which plays Division II basketball, and was awarded more based on her academic achievements, Allen said.
Last season Unger helped lead Steinbrenner (26-4) to its second girls basketball district title in the school's five-year history. The Warriors' season ended with a regional final loss to Harmony.
Unger will participate in a signing ceremony at the school with other Steinbrenner athletes on May 14.
