Wesley Chapel is searching for a new athletic director following the resignation of Steve Mumaw this week. Mumaw notified school administrators that he was stepping down in order to spend more time with his family.

“It was a personal decision," he said. "It’s a tough job, and it takes a grind on a person’s personal life and family life. You get to a point where sometimes you just have to make a decision. It just seemed like this was a good time to do it.”

Mumaw said he has served in the role as athletic director at Wesley Chapel for "six or seven years." He will continue to teach at the school.

The open athletic director's position at Wesley Chapel has been posted on the Pasco County Schools vacancies website. The position is supplement only, and the deadline for application is Thursday, April 21.
