The Strawberry Crest football program has hired assistant coach Robert Tirado as its new defensive coordinator, Chargers coach Todd Donahoe said Tuesday.

Tirado, the defensive coordinator at Jesuit last season, replaces Steve Lewis, who was the DC on an interim basis before becoming the head coach at Seffner Christian as the Crusaders begin an 11-man football program.

In other Crest news, the Chargers are holding a golf tournament fundraiser on May 8 at Walden Lake. Go to for more information.
