Armwood linebacker Eric Striker has been named a first-team high school All-American by, Sports Illustrated announced today.

The senior Oklahoma commit helped the Hawks to the Class 6A state title with Saturday’s 40-31 win over Miami Central. Striker is ranked third on the team with 95 tackles and second with nine sacks on a defense that led Armwood to a No. 3 finish in MaxPreps’ and Rivals’ national rankings.

Honorable mention selections from Tampa Bay were: Land O’Lakes tight end Kent Taylor (Florida commit), Armwood defensive lineman Allen Covington, Lakewood defensive lineman Dante Fowler Jr. (Florida State), Plant linebacker Mike Tate, Armwood defensive back Jarvis McCall (USF) and Berkeley Prep athlete Nelson Agholor.

Other notable honorable mention picks include: Citra North Marion tight end Sean Price (USF commit), Glades Day running back Kelvin Taylor and Miami Central running back Joseph Yearby.
