Sunlake K Connor Gilboy is headed to Florida as a preferred walk-on, the Seahawks announced Thursday morning via Twitter.
The senior two-sport standout had plenty of soccer options, including interest from Stanford and Wake Forest.
Gilboy set a Pasco County single-season record with 60 goals this winter during the Seahawks’ run to the Class 3A state semifinal. He also tallied 28 assists for 148 points – among the top statistical seasons in the country.
He earned first-team all-conference and all-North Suncoast honors as a kicker/punter this fall. He averaged 33 yards per punt and booted one 58 yards. Gilboy also had 26 touchbacks on 53 kickoffs and hit seven field goals and 29 extra points.
