Megan Romano, a former all-american swimmer at Northeast, started her college career the way most would have expected.

With a win.

A freshman for the Georgia Bulldogs who specializes in backstroke and freestyle events, Romano won the 200-yard back in a time of 1:59.70 during last week’s season-opening win against North Carolina. She also placed third in the 50 free (23.49) and competed in two relay events.

Of note, former Tampa Prep great Chelsea Nauta, a junior for Georgia, won the 200 free (1:48.27)

With the victory, the Bulldogs extended their home win streak to 66.

They compete at Florida this Friday.
