Jason Szafarski has resigned as baseball coach at Dixie Hollins to become an assistant coach at St. Petersburg College. Assistant coach Joshua Jackson is the new head coach. He is a former player at Dixie Hollins.

Szafarski just completed his second season as Rebels coach. Dixie Hollins was 17-9 and won the PCAC South Division. He will remain a teacher at Dixie Hollins.

"It was a tough decision but ultimately I want to be a college coach so this is a step in that direction,'' said Szafarski, who was head coach at Boca Ciega for one year. "I know (St. Petersburg College coach) Ryan (Beckman) pretty well and he asked me if I would be interested.''
