Tampa Catholic LT Corey Martinez receives first verbal offer

Tampa Catholic LT Corey Martinez, a sophomore, has received his first verbal offer, courtesy of South Florida.

Martinez, who stands at 6-foot-4 and weighs 305 pounds, attended USF's junior day last weekend and received his offer there, head coach Bob Henriquez said.

Martinez figures to be one of the top area recruits from the class of 2014 and has already collected a slew of local and national honors, including an invitation to the U.S. Army National Combine in January and selections to the second-team Maxpreps Sophomore All-American team and honorable mention nods on the Army All-Combine Team, AP Florida Class 3A All-State Team and Times All-Hillsborough County team.
