Just minutes before his son, Tampa Catholic senior football star Christian Geen, Scout.com’s No. 1-rated player in the state, made his college selection, Hiram Green told the Times the standout planned to pick Florida State.

Father knew best.

At 3:35 p.m. Green pledged to the Seminoles live on ESPNU.

Georgia was a close runnerup.

The 6-foot-2, 200-pound standout was still wavering a bit earlier today before finally deciding to go with the Seminoles, Hiram Green said.

The younger Green led TC to two state championship games as its QB. But he will play WR in college.

He is a consensus top-100 national recruit.
