Tarpon Springs wide receiver Runaldo Wright committed to College of the Canyons, a community college in Valencia, Calif.
Wright got an offer due in part to his older brother, Roshawn Marshall, a former standout with the Spongers who played at College of the Canyons.
“I tried to set something up and put in a good word for him,” Marshall said of Wright.
Marshall won a national championship with College of the Canyons and was the first player in school history to be named all-conference at two positions (defensive back and return specialist). He went on to play in the Canadian Football League and Arena Football League.
Wright finished this past season with 19 receptions for 347 yards and four touchdowns.
