Standout center Tatiana Manuel has transferred from Brooks-DeBartolo to Academy at the Lakes, Wildcats coach Karim Nohra confirmed Wednesday in a text message.

Manuel, a 6-foot-3 senior, was one of the Phoenix’s top performers last season during its 18-9 season. She averaged 11.7 points per game while leading her team in blocks (7.6 per game) and rebounds (7.4 per game). She earned honorable mention all-county honors last winter.

Manuel should make her presence felt immediately at Academy at the Lakes, which graduated two of its top forwards. The Wildcats advanced to the Class 2A state semifinals last season, giving Nohra his first trip to the final four in his storied career.
