Tampa Bay Tech running back Maurice Hagens, who has verbally committed to Miami, will attend the Hurricanes home game against Oklahoma this weekend.

It will be a milestone game for Hagens -- it will be the first college or pro football game he's seen in person.

"It's going to be the first college game I've ever been to," Hagens told UM Rivals.com website CaneSport. "Growing up I didn't think I'd play college football, so I wasn't paying attention to football - I didn't watch any football really. Growing up I thought I'd just be a student, would go to college for academics."

Hagens owns a 3.3 GPA.

He also emphasized he's still a strong verbal to the Canes. He said he still might make visits, but he's not sure. He said he will make an official visit to Miami after the high school football season.

Hagens has run for 352 runs and 3 touchdowns for a 6.6 yards-per-carry average in three games.
