Tampa Bay Tech center and defensive tackle Jevon Fripp, younger brother of University of Miami fullback and former Titans standout Maurice Hagens, has orally committed to Tennessee State.

TBT coach Jayson Roberts confirmed Fripp’s announcement via text message Friday morning.

Fripp, a 6-foot and 270- pound senior, is considered a two-star recruit by national recruiting service rivals.com.

Tennessee State is a historically black university in Nashville that competes in the Ohio Valley Conference of the Football Championship Subdivision. The program’s famous football alumni include Pro Football Hall of Fame defensive linemen Richard Dent, Ed “Too Tall” Jones and current Philadelphia Eagles defensive back Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie.

Through seven games, Fripp has 11 tackles, a sack and a fumble recovery and has been a top lineman on a team that went into Friday’s game against Freedom undefeated in Class 7A, District 7.
