TC's Corbett gets USF hoops offer

Tampa Catholic two-sport star Chivarsky Corbett, a 6-foot-5 sophomore quarterback/wing player, has been offered a basketball scholarship by USF, Crusaders coach Don Dziagwa announced.

Dziagwa said Bulls coach Stan Heath contacted him Sunday evening with the offer.

Corbett averaged a double-double (18.5 ppg, 10.0 rpg) for the 16-9 Crusaders last season while also collecting 3.2 blocks and 2.6 steals. He was an honorable-mention pick on the Times' all-Hillsborough County team.

As a quarterback, Corbett passed for nearly 800 yards last season, and has totaled nearly 1,800 yards in the last two years.
