Tampa Prep senior Jay Bowie, a versatile 6-foot-5 forward who averaged a double-double while leading the Terrapins to the Class 2A state final, has committed to Division I Marist.
Terps coach Joe Fenlon announced Bowie's commitment in a text message early this morning. Tampa Prep's top scorer (15.9 ppg) and rebounder (10.0 rpg) as a senior, Bowie also collected nearly three steals a contest. In two state tournament games, he totaled 31 points and nine boards.
He'll likely contribute immediately to Marist, a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference program that finished 1-29 this past season.
