Terriers' Green an indoor all-American

A nagging hamstring forced Jeremiah Green to make an early exit from Sunday morning's triple jump competition at the New Balance Indoor Nationals.

But not before the Hillsborough junior earned all-America status.

Green's effort (48 feet, 2 inches) was good enough for fifth place upon his exit and held up from there, Terriers coach Joe Sipp reported. The top six in each event at the meet, staged at the New York City 168th Street Armory, earned all-America recognition.

One of the county's most versatile male track athletes, Green finished third in the triple jump at last spring's Class 3A state meet. On Saturday, he placed seventh in the long jump (22-9.75), narrowly missing all-America honors.
