When East Lake meets Tarpon Springs on Thursday night, Spongers RB Adrian Golden will face the Eagles for the third time – and with his third different team.

So far, he’s 2-0 against East Lake.

-In 2007, Golden was at Ridgewood when the Rams beat the Eagles 23-14 in a fall kickoff classic. Golden, then a sophomore, wasn’t Ridgewood’s top back that night. Byronell Arline was. He rushed for 119 yards on 18 carries.

-In 2008, Golden was at Gulf, which beat East Lake 22-21 in Week 10. Golden ran for 205 yards on 23 carries to finish the regular season with 2,194 yards, giving him the Pasco County single-season rushing record. He bested the mark set by Arline the previous season.

“He’s a good player,” East Lake coach Bob Hudson said.
