Tarpon Springs went back to a familiar name to fill its boys basketball position, hiring Jerry Woodka.

Woodka takes over for James Margarella, who left after four seasons to become the coach at Clearwater Central Catholic.

This is Woodka's third time coaching the Spongers. His first stint was from 1997-2001. He left for one season before coming to coach again from 2002-05.

Last season, Tarpon Springs won 19 games and made the playoffs for the first time in more than a decade. But the Spongers will be going through a rebuilding process after graduating their two best players, C.J. Bargman and C.J. Mackey.
