For Tim Jackson, decision day will be Friday.
That’s when the heralded Gibbs DE, who lists North Carolina and Wake Forest as his favorites, will make his commitment.
“Wake and UNC are tied right now,” Jackson said. “They’ve been recruiting me for awhile. Wake has a family atmosphere. They treat people well. UNC has been doing some good things. Defensively (the Tar Heels) are very good and they’re going to be better next year.”
The 6-foot-5, 220-pound standout also is considering Mississippi State (he visited the Bulldogs last weekend), but that program is a longshot, he said.
At one time, Stanford also was in the mix.
But Jackson dropped the Cardinal earlier this month after assistant D.J. Durkin, his primary recruiter, bolted for Florida.
