Academy of the Holy Names rower Victoria Martinez signed a letter of intent Friday to row for the University of Texas, the school reported. Martinez is the daughter of Tino Martinez, former University of Tampa baseball player and major league first baseman.

Martinez's signing came two days after fellow Jaguar Clare Fleming signed a letter of intent to swim for College of Charleston. Fleming finished ninth in the 200-yard freestyle, eighth in the 100 free and was a member of the third-place 200 free relay and fifth-place 400 free relay at the 2A state championship meet in Stuart on Nov. 9. Fleming's finishes helped the Jaguars finish third overall at the meet.
