Two Gibbs basketball players sign

Gibbs basketball players Javonta Pearson and Marquel Walton each signed with colleges this past week, Gladiators coach Larry Murphy said.

Pearson, who averaged 7.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game and helped Gibbs win the conference title, is headed to Tuskegee University.

Walton, who graduated in 2011 and started on the team that made the state final four, decided to play at Northland Community College.
