The consensus among county football coaches is that few local defensive players are as talented or valuable as Dunedin’s Ali Cheaib.

College programs have taken notice.

Cheaib, a 6-foot-1, 215-pound senior LB, has earned scholarship offers from Albany and Delaware State, Falcons coach Mark Everett said today. Both programs play at the Division I-AA level.

Cheaib will make official visits to each soon.

Despite being injured much of the season last fall, Cheaib was an honorable mention All-County pick. He was team MVP as a junior.
