Nebraska coach Bo Pelini wasn’t the only college coach to stop by Tarpon Springs on Wednesday. A Miami assistant also dropped in, according to Spongers coach George Kotis.
The coach was there to check out juniors RB Darius Daniels, OL Zach DeBell, PK Michael Hill and DT Brodrick Lee, Kotis said.
Minnesota already has offered the 6-foot-7, 250-pound DeBell.
Lee, who is 6-foot-2, 285 pounds, arguably will be one of the area’s two or three best returning defensive players in 2010. Rivals.com analyst Jamie Newberg came away impressed after watching Lee have his way against Gainesville in a playoff game last fall.
Daniels is a small, but speedy back. Hill already is kicking 50-yard field goals.
“Everyone likes Brodrick,” Kotis said. “But I’m just happy all four are getting looks from Division I schools.”
