Armwood senior QB Darryl Richardson, who set a Hawks single-game record with five TD passes in Friday's 49-0 romp of Leto, has received a scholarship offer from UCLA, his mom told the Times.
Richardson (6-foot-5, 220 pounds) also has offers from USF, Missouri, Ole Miss and Tennessee. He received an offer two springs ago from Ohio State, well before Urban Meyer became Buckeyes coach.
Besieged by injuries in 2011, his first as Hawks starter, Richardson has shown a greater grasp of Armwood's offense and a far more authoritative running style this fall. In four games, he has completed nearly 60 percent of his passes (42-for-73) for 746 yards, 11 TDs and one interception. His 104 rushing yards (with three TDs) rank second on the team.
