Darren Hambrick, LB, Hernando (6-2, 215 pounds)

The latest: The junior picked up his third Division I offer Friday — from UMass. It’s Hambrick’s second offer in eight days, and it continues the Minutemen’s recruiting blitz in the Tampa Bay. Pasco DL Joey Ivie recently received an offer from UMass, and his Pirates teammate, Trey Dudley-Giles signed with the school earlier this month.

Offers: Western Kentucky, Kent State, UMass

Last season: Hambrick was one of the Leopards’ leaders with 81 tackles and 5.5 sacks. He also had a fumble recovery and was among Hernando’s leaders in QB hurries. Florida and Miami are among the other schools that have expressed interest.

We say: Hambrick is a tenacious pass rusher and one of the North Suncoast’s top talents. He played defensive end for Hernando last fall but projects as a linebacker. He’s the son of the former Pasco Pirate, Florida Gator and Dallas Cowboy of the same name.
