UMass seems to be building a pipeline to Pasco.
The Minutemen gave Pirates DT Joey Ivie his first college offer Friday, Pasco coach Tom McHugh said. UMass has already received a letter of intent from senior DB Trey Dudley-Giles and offered a scholarship to senior QB Jacob Guy.
Ivie, a 6-foot-5, 245-pound junior, was second on the team with 53 tackles during the regular season. He also had eight sacks for 59 yards and forced two fumbles. Ivie had one of the best games of his career when he dominated Jesuit in the Class 5A region final.
UMass is making the jump to Division I this year and will play in the MAC.
Ivie is the second Pasco junior to receive a D-I offer. ATH Janarion Grant has an offer from USF.
