There will be one very well-known man in the stands at tonight’s Tampa Catholic-South Florida Prep football game in Lauderdale Lakes.

Florida Gator football coach Urban Meyer.

According to Hiram Green, father of Tampa Catholic star QB Christian Green, Meyer, whose team is off this week, told the Green family he will attend the game.

The Gators are heavily involved in the recruitment of Christian Green, whom Rivals.com rates as one of the country’s 100 best prospects (as an ATH) in the Class of 2010. They’re also actively recruiting TC OL Chaz Green, who also is a Rivals100 member.

Florida is one of Christian Green’s finalists, along with Florida State, Georgia and USF. The 6-foot-2, 200-pounder visited UGA last weekend and enjoyed his trip.

The Gators are believed to be the front-runner for Chaz Green (6-foot-6, 290). Ohio State, Southern California and Tennessee are also said to be in the mix.

“It’s exciting,” Hiram Green said. “Not only for Christian, but for all the kids.”
