USF’s recruiting push across Tampa Bay extended into Hernando County on Sunday.
The Bulls offered Nature Coast DE Rohan Blackwood, Sharks assistant coach Rob Kazmier announced on Twitter.
Blackwood, a 6-foot-5, 194-pound junior, is one of Tampa Bay’s top two-sport stars. He racked up 15 sacks, 69 tackles and a fumble recovery during NCT’s 6-4 season this fall. He also caught two touchdown passes on offense to earn first-team all-North Suncoast and second-team all-Suncoast honors.
In basketball, he is the leading scorer (15.4 points per game) and rebounder (11.0 per game) for a 24-3 Sharks team that’s reached the Class 5A region semifinals.
Blackwood also has a scholarship offer from UMass and has received interest from Florida, Michigan and Mississippi State, among others.
Blackwood’s latest offer was part of USF’s Tampa Bay recruiting blitz on Sunday.
