Tampa Catholic receiver Zach Benjamin, who ranked No. 48 in the Times' HomeTeam 100, has received a scholarship offer from South Florida.

Benjamin, a senior, first mentioned the offer on his Twitter account Monday night and Crusaders coach Bob Henriquez confirmed the news this morning.

Benjamin previously held offers from schools such as Air Force, Massachusetts, Ohio and others. USF is Benjamin's first offer from an automatic qualifying conference.

Through seven games this season, Benjamin has 15 catches for 251 yards (16.8 yards-per catch) and five touchdowns.  He had 13 receptions for 260 yards and five touchdowns last year.

At 6-foot-5 and 190 pounds, Benjamin generated a lot of recruiting buzz during the summer while playing with Team Tampa, which won the IMG Madden Football 7-on-7 national championship.
