The University of South Florida has won the bidding process to host the Florida High School Athletic Association state high school softball championships the next two years, the Florida High School Athletic Association announced in a news release.
The FHSAA ranked all the proposals it received from venues wishing to host its state championships in spring sports. The highest-ranked bid in each sport was notified of its standing and subsequently offered a contract.
USF's bid, according to the release, beat out one from the National Training Center in Clermont, site of the past two state tournaments.
Hillsborough County previously has twice hosted the softball championships, at Ed Radice Sports Complex in North Tampa (2002-05) and Plant City Stadium ('06-09).
