Wiregrass Ranch lineman John Coyne has received a scholarship offer from Valparaiso (Ind.) University, Bulls coach Jeremy Shobe said Wednesday night.

Coyne, a 6-foot-2, 260-pound senior, recorded four tackles and 0.5 sacks in Wiregrass’ season-opening loss to Wesley Chapel. He averaged 1.4 tackles last season.

Valpo gave Coyne his first offer, but he is also receiving interest from Mercer, Stetson and Drake.

Valpo plays in the Pioneer League in NCAA Division I-AA. The Crusaders are 0-5 this season.
