Vincent Jackson lists his top 12

Following a weekend getaway to Atlanta, Jesuit LB Vincent Jackson has released his list of top 12 colleges.

Early Tuesday evening, Jackson reported via Twitter his top dozen are Alabama, Auburn, FSU, Kentucky, Miami, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Oregon, Southern Cal, Tennessee, Texas A&M and USF. In a subsequent phone interview with the Tampa Bay Times, he indicated Alabama, Auburn, Oregon and Miami may have a slight edge over the others.

Jackson hoped to make informal visits to Georgia Tech and Georgia while in Atlanta over the weekend, but indicated coaches of those schools were out of town for the holidays. He said he plans to make a final decision some time during the 2013 season.

Deemed a three-star prospect by Rivals.com, Jackson (6-foot-3, 237 pounds) is ranked 96th on longtime national recruiting analyst Tom Lemming's list of the country's top 100 rising seniors.

Though capable of playing inside or outside linebacker, he lined up exclusively inside in the Tigers' 34-21 spring victory Friday against Dixie Hollins.
