Naples won the sixth annual Mustang Invitational by defeating host Northside Christian 25-23, 25-13 in the final on Saturday.

The Eagles (9-3) won all five of their matches, dropping just one game to Northside Christian (13-5) in pool play. The Mustangs were 3-2 in the tournament, which featured eight teams from around the state.

Northeast went 2-3 and won the silver bracket for teams that didn’t qualify for the gold championship. Cambridge Christian, the only other area team, was 3-2 but lost both matches in Saturday’s gold bracket.

Naples setter Haley Schultheis was named the tournament’s most valuable player. Members of the all-tournament team were Haley Freedman (Naples), Rebecca Johnson (Naples), Carlee Baxter (Warner Christian), Kaela Fennell-Chin (University), Fabiola Rosado (McKeel Academy), Brittany Taksas (Northeast), Grace Nelson (Cambridge Christian), Brooke Wilsman (Lakeland Christian), Megan Tozour (Northside Christian), Hannah Artille (Northside Christian).
