Volleyball
North Suncoast Super 7

1. Mitchell (14-4): The Mustangs rebounded from another 3-2 loss to Tarpon Springs with wins over Wiregrass Ranch, Land O’Lakes and River Ridge. Jessika Hester and her team remain Pasco County’s best.

2. Fivay (18-4): After getting revenge against Ridgewood, the Falcons turn their attention to Mitchell in their toughest test of the season.

3. Ridgewood (15-3): The Rams are more like 2A — they’re nearly identical to Fivay — but lost the rankings’ coin flip. Mary Kujak is a strong contender for North Suncoast player of the year.

4. Anclote (10-6): The Sharks will again be contenders in the district tournament. Mia Lockhart’s squad will have the chance to swing an upset or two.

5. Wiregrass Ranch (13-5): Grace Olsen and the Bulls can head toward the playoffs with momentum if they can knock off Freedom and Ridgewood in the next week.

6. Springstead (9-4): The Eagles entered Wednesday perfect against Hernando County foes under new coach Noemi Rivera and a strong season by senior Marisa Welch.

7. Bishop McLaughlin (10-6): The Hurricanes have won their past five matches and claimed their tournament title for the second straight year. Alyssa Mathis and her teammates are getting hot at the right time.
