Plant senior outside hitter Maddie Martin has been named to the ESPNRise All-American first team.

It's the latest national honor for Martin, the Times All-Suncoast Player of the Year. She played in the Under Armour All-American Match last month, winning MVP honors. She was also named Gatorade state player of the year.

A Penn State recruit, Martin is one of three Nittany Lions recruits to make the ESPNRise first team. She was the only Floridian to make first team. Stuart Martin County senior Elise Walch was named to second team.

Martin won state titles all four years at Plant, leading the Panthers to the Class 6A title this season after claiming the 5A crown the three previous years.
