Steinbrenner 2B/DH Christian Diaz, a career .380 hitter for the Warriors, has committed to Jacksonville University, Warriors coach John Crumbley announced.
Diaz, a three-year starter, was the school's student body president and a finalist for the Wade Boggs Athletic Achievement Award recently presented by the Hillsborough County Commission, Crumbley said. He becomes the third member of the Warriors' 2012 team to sign with or commit to a college.
A fixture in the middle to top half of Steinbrenner's batting order, Diaz hit .349 with a home run and 18 RBIs as a senior.
