Wesley Chapel G Shantel Houston had two choices.

The first was an opportunity to have school basically paid for at the University of Florida thanks to all the academic acheivements during her four years in high school.

The other was an opportunity to play basketball at Emory, a Division III program in Atlanta known for strong academics. Division III schools do not award athletic scholarships

Houston chose the latter and will sign a letter of intent with Emory on Friday, Wesley Chapel athletic director Steve Mumaw said.

"She chose Emory because she wants to play and it's agood academic school," Wildcats coach Karim Nohra said. "Selena Castillo is going threre from the Academy of the Holy Names so already probably has a roomate."

Houston was a Times' North Suncoast first-team selection, who helped lead the Wildcats to its third consecutive region final.
