Wesley Chapel P Cole Miraglia has signed a letter of intent with Central Florida Community College.

His father, Mike Miraglia, said the paperwork was signed and sent back this morning.

"They've been recruiting him all year," Mike Miraglia said. "This is something he wants; it's a school he wants to go to."

Miraglia, a Zephryhills transfer, has gone 8-1 with a 1.43 ERA with 84 strikeouts in 58.2 innings pitched. He faced 236 batters allowing just 37 hits and walking 23. Offensively, Miraglia is batting .466 with 34 hits, 23 RBIs, five doubles and two home runs.

Miraglia also had interest from Eckerd, Saint Leo and Florida Tech. His father said one connection with CFCC was pitching coach Daniel Hersey.

"He had worked with Cole over the years with pitching lessons," Mike Miraglia said. "He was at a showcase at (Florida Gulf Coast). Danny happened to be there and Cole was throwing the ball really well."

Miraglia, a lefty, stick with three pitches including a fastball ranging in the upper 80-miles-per-hour range, a cruveball and a changeup.
