Shorecrest will face Miami Westminster Christian in Tuesday's Class 2A state baseball championship game.

Westminster beat Orangewood Christian 13-5 in Monday's other semifinal. Through three innings, Westminster trailed 4-0 and did not have a hit. Then came the fourth inning when Westminster expoloded for nine runs. David Thompson got things going for Westminster with a solo home run. He finished with two in the game to tie the state season record with 19.

This will be the second time Shorecrest has faced Westminster in a state final. The other was 1989, when the Chargers won for their second state title. The Yankees Alex Rodriguez was an eighth grader on that Westminster team.
