Wiregrass Ranch's physical 20-6 loss to Wesley Chapel will force two Bulls to sit out next week's game against Sunlake.

Starting quarterback Jake Day and starting running back Jamie Barone will both miss Week 2 for precautionary reasons after sustaining concussions Friday night, Bulls coach Jeremy Shobe said Saturday.

Barone left the game in an ambulance. The 5-foot-6, 145-pound junior rushed for 30 yards on six carries but did not play in the fourth quarter.

Day took a hard hit into the first down marker in the second half Friday night. He sat out a play but returned to the game. He sustained another hard hit near the sidelines in the Wildcats red zone in the closing minutes of the fourth quarter.

Day did not play in Wiregrass Ranch's final drive. The athletic 5-foot-11, 163-pound junior, threw a 31-yard touchdown pass Friday that was his team's only score of the game.
