Wiregrass Ranch’s quest for its first win has gotten even tougher.
Quarterback Jake Day is out indefinitely and could miss the rest of the season with concussion-like symptoms, Bulls coach Jeremy Shobe said Tuesday.
“As of right now, he’s very unlikely to return,” Shobe said.
Day sustained a concussion in a Week 1 loss to Wesley Chapel and didn’t return to the field until a Sept. 23 game against Gaither. He took another hard hit then and has continued to experience symptoms of a concussion. The Bulls could sideline him for the rest of the year for precautionary reasons, Shobe said.
Wiregrass Ranch (0-4, 0-1) will get a boost from the returning of running back Jamie Barone for this week’s game against Tampa Bay Tech. He was also knocked out with a concussion against Wesley Chapel.
