WESLEY CHAPEL — Red and white balloons, some emblazoned with the Wiregrass Ranch Bull, rested at either end of the long table.

Behind it, the largest class of signees in Wiregrass Ranch’s history prepared to sign with college programs Tuesday afternoon.

“We recognize all of our athletes, whether it’s Division II, Division III, Division I,” athletic director Dave Wilson said to assembled students and family.

A few athletes signed earlier or decided to take more time with their decisions, Wilson said. That still left 18 at the table in Wiregrass’ gym.

Coaches stood behind each athlete and said words about hard work, leadership and talent. When they were finished, the students picked up their pens, and a flood of parents rushed forward with cameras.
