Wiregrass Ranch tennis player Sarah Means, who won a state tennis title (Class 3A) in doubles with her sister Elizabeth in 2010, will sign with Florida Gulf Coast University according to her mother Roslyn Means.
Sarah played No. 1 singles and doubles for the Bulls last season and advanced to the state finals in the No. 1 singles bracket before falling to Gibbs' Akilah James in three sets.
In doubles, the Means' sisters waltzed through the No. 1 doubles bracket at state and qualified for the overall Class 3A doubles championship, which they won by defeating Chamberlain's Nicole Mera and McKenzie O'Brien 6-2, 6-4. The Bulls' pair didn't drop a set in doubles at state.
Neither sister played for Wiregrass Ranch this season, instead opting to focus on junior tournaments and academics.
