Wiregrass Ranch cross country runner Sam Hippely has verbally committed to the University of West Florida on a partial scholarship, Bulls coach Chris Loth said Monday afternoon.

The FACA All-Star was the Times' North Suncoast runner of the year. Hippely finished second at the district meet, fourth at regionals and 26th at state during his senior season. He also took home the Sunshine Athletic Conference title with a time of 16:19. He was a three-time all-conference runner and holds Wiregrass' school record in the 5,000 meters (16:02).

He's the second Bull runner to commit to a school this month after Ben Hill pledged to Saint Leo.
